Not sure if anyone else has come across this yet but I'm finding it impossible to log into anything that requires a login on my pro. It's happened to my girlfriends pro also, I upgraded them both in the same day. Basically the list is: iMessage, FaceTime, Facebook, amazon, twitter, hotmail - anything that you need to log into. No error message, just loading icons on ML based applications and the loading bar just freezes on both safari and Firefox. Seems strange that it's happened to both pros?

Couldn't log into this on my pro, so managed to post this on iPad which logs in fine apart from iMessage which I tried logging out of to log back in to help solve the problem, same for iPhone.

Any ideas, anyone?? I'm stumped, and a touch frustrated! We now have two Macbook pro's that are useless.

I don't use any sort of password manager, have tried a keychain first aid - nothing there and had a sweep for any virus - still nothing.

Can anyone help?

Since you're having an unusual problem on two machines, I'd wager something is not quite right regarding your install media. I'd redownload and reinstall.

Before that, though, I'd try a few things first--disk repair and repair permissions. Also, try opening a new account to see if it happens there as well.

Is there any unusual or low-level third party software that you both use?

It could be something going on with your internet, and ML might be a coincidence. Can you take your MBP to another Wifi network and see if you get the same result? Try resetting your router/cable modem?

Thanks Cougarcat, I'll try the first few suggestions tonight. No real unusual software just the usual like handbrake, VLC, office and creative suite.

Tried rebooting the rooter which also did nothing, plus ipads and phones are working fine, until I signed out of imessage on the pad and phone now they wont log back in but other stuff is working fine on them such as website log ins where as they won't on the Macs.

Just read about a 'clean install' never even heard/needed to do that before.

Gone are the simple days eh?

Well, if iMessage isn't working anymore on your iOS devices, then I don't think anything's wrong with your ML installs.

Can you sign into iMessage on your phone over 3G?

Try unplugging both your wireless router and your cable modem, wait (seriously, wait a few minutes) and then plug everything back in.

Just tried it and it worked, surely it's the router then?! I'll unplug everything again tonight and see what happens, thanks for your help bud.

And sorry for blaming Mountain Lion so quickly! Just seemed too much of a coincidence to me, let's just say it was an un-educated guess.
