Okay so i thought i would jailbreak my ipod touch first gen. Everything was fine, downloaded pretty, but whenever i opened cydia, it told me it needed to update. Thinking that this was probably just a routine update, i clicked "complete upgrade" and i continually get this error "Internal error, COuld not perform immediate configuration (2) on essential"

Anyone mind helping? It won't let me download anything else, and I'm fairly certain that this is at the root of all the problems. Thanks in advance!

when you jailbroke did you install icy? i did and had same problems and i restored and re jailbroke without icy and cydia works flawless

Exact same problem / solution with me as well. Disappointing really, considering the fact that Icy is so much prettier and faster than Cydia.

im having the same problem, do we have to restore and re-jailbreak? or is there a way to remove icy from the phone manually?

I installed Icy and then Cydia wouldn't work so I couldn't uninstall it-ended up restoring from scratch.

Not sure I like Icy, or RipDev for that matter. They seem to want to OWN my phone :(

im having trouble jailbreaing my 2nd Gen iPod Touch using redsn0w, I do everything fine, but it just doesnt come on when im done
