make apple music remember play back position?

Is there a way I can make Apple Music app on Mac remember playback position?

I searched the web and in some sites it was said you should do something in iTunes! I don't have iTunes on my mac.

I couldn't find the setting for this in Apple music app on mac:

I feel your pain. Bizarrely the iOS version of Music has had this feature seemingly forever. When I open the app and click play, it carries on playing from where I stopped it, like a Walkman would. Mac Music, no.

I don't use Music, but I think it's still possible to set "Remember playback position" with Automator

Automator is included in macOS. You only need to perform the operation once for all the songs in the Library.

I hope I haven’t misunderstood something, but Select all (command+A), right-click, Get info – Edit Items – Options – check “Remember playback position” works in Music for local files
