I am running iTunes on a PC with a large hard disk, and I'd like to consolidate all my music to this computer. I have an external hard disk which has a clone of my Mac on it.

Contained within there is audio and video within the iTunes folder, but I am sure other places as well.

If I plug the hard disk into my PC, is there a way to tell iTunes to find all the video and music on the disk and to copy it to iTunes, the way it does when you run iTunes for the first time? I would like it to merge with the iTunes music already on this computer and not replace it.

Thanks!

On a Mac you could delete the preferences and have iTunes find your media files automatically...I'm not sure where the preferences are stored on a PC, however.

I called Apple and they didn't know either. They did however say that you can do virtually the same thing by going to File--> Import and instead of selecting a file selecting the entire hard disk and that it will import every media file that iTunes is capable of playing, so I will try that out.
