At the moment my MBP boots into Mac OSX by default but usually with XP theres a way to choose XP for the default boot. After installing Vista, though, that option has gone so how can I do it?

I think its like this..

Mac: System Prefs -> Startup Disk -> Windows Vista/XP/Whatever

WinBloze: Control Panel -> Thats all I remember from Windows. But there's most likely something about Startup disks there.

B.T.W.. OS X is soooo much better than Vista! lol

Because its the only way I can install Daemon Tools. For somereason it asks to reboot the computer, but when rebooitng it goes into Mac. Even holding alt then going to vista doesnt do anything. I need it to reboot into Vista.

And the above method only works with XP

For my sake, could post a link to any install guides you've used to install Vista.

Also, any notes you'd give us that you've learned from the install?

**Remember, that if you ever want to get rid of vista, the only easy way is to format your whole hard drive, and reinstall both os x and windows. Bootcamp does not work correctly after you install vista :)

Hi people,

Seriously mate, why would you want Vista over OSX.....

But anyways, theres a guide on macrumors which explains how its done, its fairly complicated, ivolving deleting the EFI files from the HDD, etc, and the others are right, to unistall Vista, you have to format your hard-drive!

Just stick with XP unti Leopard comes out, then it should support VIsta.....with any luck....

Cheers

Is Vista that bad? I was going to try it but you can't download it anymore. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a RC copy?

I don't think there is a way to. I think the best thing would be IF you want to use daemon tools, stick to XP until bootcamp supports Vista's partitioning.

Of coarse it isn't good! What from MS is good:rolleyes:

My xBox controller has never given me any issues :D

As for the console itself....lets just say I never knew a game console could crash.

When you remove (or disable) the EFI partition, you lose the ability to choose which OS you want the computer to boot to by default.

RC1 won't be out until after Q3 this year.

However, there has been an update since Beta 2 that supposedly is a lot better.

I'd like to get my hands on it!
