I went out and bought a bluray drive today since I picked up my new atv I wanted to start ripping some blurays. However im seeing that MakeMKV is ripping at only 2x. I searched a bit on google and found a thread about Anydvd HD bypassing the riplock to rip an iso and then makemkv will decode it at 70x. have you guys found ways around riplock or are you all ripping blurays at 2x? I remember this problem with my dvd drive and I quickly fixed that with firmware and stuff back when i was on windows. more limited on mac tho.

I don't think there is a 70X blu ray drive anywhere? That would be unthinkably crazy fast.

My extrnal bd drive is a 6X and I'm getting a 5X right now using Make MKV.

no it would only rip at 70x if you ripped an ISO with something else and fed the ISO to make mkv to decode it. My drive is 12x
