Making albums in Photos is increasing the file storage size

Hi guys,

I am a bit confused.

All my photos are on iCloud and Originals are downloaded on my iMac as well. Photos is taking up 165GB of storage.

However, I started making a bunch of albums in photos and I noticed the file storage size started going up.

Why is this happening? The photos are not being duplicated. They are just being added to an album.

Any help would be appreciated. I am on 10.5.6 Catalina
