I got rid of mine on the iBook when I upgraded to Tiger.zorg said:

It usually doesn't free heaps of space you are better of getting an external HDD or replace your existing HDD for a larger one.
If you want to make some room remove given that you don'g use Garageband get rid of that with all it's Loops. We are talking about GB here.

yeah just dragging the printer drivers to the trash works great. not exactly sure how much space you will save, maybe 1 GB or so. I would agree you probably need an external hard drive.
