I am considering the Sport Watch for fitness purposes, would the 38mm suit a male or is it more for females? I don't really want a bulky watch
I have a thin left wrist and a thick right wrist.
Male with big wrists here, but I like small watches.
I'd get the 38, but not sure I'm getting one at all. Gen 1 is thiiiiick.
I don't think it wears as thick as it looks. The straps connect to the middle of the case, so that height gets cut in half, visually, when on the wrist. A lot of my automatic watches are the same way. They look much thicker off wrist.
I still wouldn't be able to put it under my shirt cuff.
I wear a watch that's about 5mm thick (prob less), I wouldn't be able to handle something so big and clunky on my wrist. It's more about the feel than he look for me.
Really? Most guys that I've talked to on watch forums think that somewhere around 11mm-13mm is the cutoff height for fitting under the shirt cuff. A Rolex DateJust is 10.4mm tall, and a Submariner is 12.8mm tall.
Per some of the articles I've read, yes really.
We don't have exact dimensions for the iwatch yet, but i'd be surprised if it was around 10mm. Looks much much larger.
I just posted a thread about it. It appears to be in the 12.5mm-13mm range, and a couple of millimeters of that is the pulse sensor on the back. I think the watch is smaller than people think, making it look thicker than it really is.

I certainly appreciate you taking the time and doing all the detective work, I can see you're really passionate, which is awesome.
Just expressing my opinion that even something in the 10mm range is too much for me. Lots of people have grown accustomed to not having something that big on their wrist, it's a matter of preference.
I'll wait a few years for the software to improve and the hardware to thin out, then I'll pick one up. Nothing will really change my mind that watch is too thick for me.
Now if only I could hope that the watch would someday be round.
Well, all watches I have are between 41mm and 45mm, but the 42mm looks just so huge on all the real life photos on someone's wrist. It probably has to do with it being rectangular and therefore obscuring more of your wrist.
I will have to try it in real life, but I'm leaning towards 38mm. I want it to stay subtle and not make it geeky
But its thickness makes it geeky.
