Maybe a topic for the gaming thread, but anyone tried Street Fighter 3 on MAME OSX on the new Minis? It was impossible to play on the C2D so now I got curious again. (Never got the Windows version to run under Boot Camp so I haven't tried it.)

What MAME player do people use now? The Mac MAME player hasn't been supported in years, that I could see.

I am using MAME on my i7 Mini and as soon as I get home from work I'll try out SFIII. I've avoided it due to the way CPSIII games take 20 minutes to emulate the decryption of the data, but it should work well!

I could only find MAME OS X at the time, but while the game will load up it runs really choppy. I'm gonna download that other version and see if my luck is better.

I think I played SF3 in GGPO on my Atom netbook before as well as in CrossOver on my 2009 mini, so the C2D should be more than enough to play it...it's just a matter of the emulator.

What about the HLSL performance with the new minis?
I've read it's pretty heavy on HW side.
Can the quad HD 3000 take up the task or is better to look at amd one?

sdlmame + Japanese SF3 works perfectly on my almost 5 year old Macbook Pro. 2Ghz core 2 duo and Radeon X1600.

It's also works on my 2007 mini too.
I was just curious to know about the recently added HLSL effects
as they needs some graphical performance.
