I have only recently switched on Apple Music on my phone because I exceeded the 25k song limit so it only started working for me recently.

Since I did, I repeatedly get the "Storage Almost Full" message on my phone and when I check Settings, I have 0 bytes left. I haven't manually added any additional music to my phone or downloaded anything explicitly from Apple Music. This affects my ability to download app updates or content on other apps such as Overcast.

What I don't understand is why this is happening - I did say "Merge" when I turned on Apple Music on my Phone, but since then I haven't downloaded any additional music to my phone (I selected "Merge" because I have an iTunes playlist which selected the music I synced to my phone, and thought it was easier to Merge rather than Delete everything and then download the playlist over the air - this might have been a mistake).

But i thought that with both Apple Music and Photos, iOS would dynamically manage storage, deleting songs or photos as necessary - but maybe it doesn't delete songs that were on the iPhone prior to activation.

Thinking I should probably wipe all the music off my phone and download the "sync playlist" over the air.

Any thoughts before I do?

I'm not sure if this is the case but there has been a bug recently with Apple Music/Itunes Match that makes iOS devices automatically download music at random. I'd check to see if your phone is downloading songs, even if you haven't done so manually. Check to see how much storage space the music is taking up in your phone. There isn't a fix for this issue yet, except manually deleting music from your phone. That's the only thing I can think of at the moment. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the response, it does seem that my phone was constantly downloading something (given the battery drain). Have restored my phone, loaded music through iTunes and restored iTunes Cloud Library. Let's see if it recurs...
