I’m after, ideally one of the above as will use on CarPlay, to be able to plan a route. It’s specifically to avoid roadworks so not my normal route.

Is there a way to manually plan to go down specific roads etc, and be able to save it on iPhone, and then so I can use via CarPlay.

Thanks

I don't know anything about Carplay but you can easily plot out a custom route on in Google Maps on a computer and then send it to your iPhone…Google account required.

That would work! Sorry never been on computer (own anyway), for a while, just use iPad/iPhone.

So you can specifically plot a route down where you want and save it?

Is it a once only option though? I want to save it for future as well.

I presume once saved, if can, it would work on CarPlay as well though.

After triple-checking I believe I was wrong, sort of, about altered routes. When you send to the iPhone the changes don't get applied. If you add stops along your desired route the route will send correctly.

So plot a route on a computer, with various stops? will it also save to my iPhone permanently?

On your iPhone, create the multi-stop route that will take you the way you want to go. Touch the "•••" to the right of the starting point and then "share directions". Copy the link and save it somewhere, like in Notes. Opening that link will open the route in Google Maps.

Note: only the individual travel points are actually saved. The routes between them will depend on current traffic conditions. This isn't exactly what you're looking for but it's close.

Anyone ever done this? Still struggling to find a way.

I thought it would be a logical thing needed for certain people, delivery drivers etc?

So I need to plan my own route on either Apple maps, Google maps, or Waze (or another if works on CarPlay) and be able to save and access it when required via CarPlay.

Thanks
