Probably the time zone difference too. The event happened at 6pm here. Im guessing the Apple stores are only getting their shipments today and some UK users maybe lucky and find that they get it before the shipping ETA :D

Yeah you may be right!

Have you ordered one?

No i haven't. I need to see one in person and see whats its capabilities are before i order. I only just got my iPad second hand last wednesday because the guy was a student, and mac fan, and heard about the possibilities of a new Air coming at the 'Back to the Mac' Conference so i got it for a really good price :D

As much as i like the smaller version im not sure i can get my head round spending almost the same on that as i did my 3 year old iMac yet my iMac is still more powerful. The 13" does interest me though. If i didn't have this iMac then i probably get the 128GB one with the 4GB of ram. Or i would wait till refurbs show as the 256GB one is the one id most like :D

If its anything like the previous gen then the 1.86 will be fine. Its the 11"s 1.4GHz that would worry me. I think you made the right choice going for upgraded ram over cpu. Safari, iTunes and the like love to chomp on ram. Plus in terms of longevity i would imagine that the most limiting factor of the Air would be the 2GB ram so you should be ok for years to come.

Same as me addidasaddict :)

My deliver by is 28/29 oct! Hopefully it's accurate as I'm moving on the 29th!!!!!

The last BTO mac I ordered came 2 days before its estimate, so I am hoping for a repeat. In saying that these things seem hugely popular and I guess the poor chinese grafters will be busier than usual.

I hope your right! Spoke to apple this morning as my bank queried the transaction and wanted to make sure it went through and apparently it did.

The lady gave me a chuckle as she said "I want to tell you that a new MacBook air was released last night and I don't want you to be disappointed with an old model"

Which I thought was decent of her :)

Interesting - I'm considering selling my iPad & MBP 13" for an 13" MBA. Depends how much I can get for my 64Gb 3G though. Much less than £600 and its going to be too painful.

On a side note I'd also have prefered the MBA to have built-in 3G. Notebooks have had this feature for years - it would be nice for Apple to catch up.

Weirdly enough I'm asking £600! Mines about 2 months old and mint! So people can save themselves £100 :)

And yeah I wish it had a sim slot! The idea of the iPad is great but I don't use apps etc and the new MBA is purrfect! Especially with a sd slot so I can still upload my images on the move

yerr. dual citizenship. am in oz at present.

20% VAT aye, David Cameron is serious about reducing the debt, either that or her Majesty must have told him her properties need more renovating £'s.. yipes!

student or developer discounts look rather enticing, if they still exist?
