Map widget showing address

Is there a way to stop the map widget from showing my home address or work address when the phone is locked?

You can't see your widgets? I can see every one of mine. Notes, reminders, maps, weather, calendar, stocks... I just can't click into them. But they are all visible.

Assuming you have Today View enabled when the device is locked, you have the widgets added there (as opposed to them being on one of your home screens), and you swipe to it from your lock screen, yeah, you should be able to see your widgets there.

So they are not blacked out when locked. I remember in the earlier betas some widgets were hidden until unlocked. If this is expected behavior then I guess its time for me to make changes to the today view.

I'm not comfortable with my address being in the open in case someone gets a hold of my phone. Calendar too I guess since there are meeting codes that I sometimes attached to events and Notes.

I can't quite recall completely for sure at the moment, but from my recollection what I saw on the Today View when the screen was locked compared to when it was unlocked was basically the same, at last with the widgets that I've been using.

Mind you, I can’t see the Map widget showing my home address. It just shows current location and if you tap any of the options it comes up asking for FaceID.

Depending on setting it will show eta for suggested destination. I’ve had it show eta for home, work and other of my significant locations.

Ahhh, is not seen that. Mind you, I’ve been stuck at home, mostly, since March.

Does your map widget default to your home address instead of your current location?

It seems like it tries to guess where I’m headed next and shows me how long it takes to get there. I haven’t tried it again since I removed the widget. I’ll test to see if it still shows my home address.

It’s still doing it. When I’m at work and the phone thinks I’m heading home... the maps widget will show home as the suggested destination while the map shows my home on the map along with my address. This is all while the phone is locked. So the widget is off again for now. I don’t want someone who takes my phone or finds it to know where I live.
