macOS Maple

I'm trying to write a simple C routine that I can call from Maple. Any advice?

The Maple help pages just describe how to do this with Microsoft Visual (yuck!) using a ".dll" file. On the other hand, they mention that it can be done with a UNIX shared library, but they don't say how. Hmmm.... Any thoughts?

The Maple support web site is not-too-supportive, for such specialized things. The folks at Maple want users to buy a series of programming manuals, but I don't have a copy handy.

This should be an easy question for anybody familiar with programming Maple on the Mac. I've been doing Maple programming for many years, but I never tried to utilize an external C subrouting from Maple on my Mac.
