Ive just updates from PB3 to PB5, and maps seems to have regressed quite a bit. For example, there were countdowns on all the options such as which route to take or I’d there were quicker routes.

Also, in PB3, it displayed on the map as I was driving how much longer or shorter different routes would take. This was a feature I loved as it showed it was actively trying different routes and convinced me that the current route was the better one.

Sadly on PB5 these don’t seem to be here anymore. Has anyone else noticed it?

First, just because something is missing from a Beta does not mean that it is gone for good. It may reappear in a future Beta, or in the actual iOS 11.

I have not used Apple Maps for driving yet (I plan to do that Tomorrow to see the eclipse). However, in planning my trip I see that Apple Map Route Cards are not available. Since they were called up by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, that Apple will have to come up with a different method of doing it, as this gesture now calls up the dock on the iPad.

I'm blown away at how much Maps has improved. I'm using it exclusively now since I travel 100% of the time for my job. I had some POI issues in the first PB, but it has found everything since then...which is good, since I don't know where I'm going on some of these trips. Hah.

MozMan is talking about his particular area of the US, elsewhere your route accuracy & safety might vary, so do some test drives with Waze and/or Google first.

Is this just a general comment to everyone else? Hah. ;)

I travel extensively...mostly in the US...it is WAY better and seems to improve constantly. I hope it continues. In my opinion, it really does have the best interface of all mapping programs...and, well, those with CarPlay have little choice.
