Trying to change the default maps icon for my theme. Tried winterboard

com.apple.Maps
Icon@2x.png

and also tried just replacing the image directly. But it just won't change.

I had a similar problem with the Maps icon not updating on the home screen.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Launch Cydia.
  2. Tap the 'Search' button on the lower right corner of the navigation bar.
  3. Type in 'ClearMyCache' and tap on it in the list.
  4. Tap 'Install' on the top right of the screen.
  5. Tap 'Confirm' on the top right of the screen.
  6. When it is done installing, launch the app.
  7. It may appear to have crashed, but wait a minute and it will say that all caches have been cleared.
  8. Hold down the top button on the phone for a few seconds and slide to the slider that appears to the right to reboot the phone.

Hope this helps!

thanks a ton - ive been looking everywhere and could not find this - i can confirm this works (on I2HD theme)

I have a couple others that don't have icons - could be because the theme is a bit dated now - but apps like podcasts and a few others dont have icons. How did you know that was the name of the file to rename it to?

When Icon@2x.png didn't work, I just looked at pngs with similar names using an image viewer until I found the right image with the correct icon size.

Not a directly related question but I have one about customizing Icons. I have been making my them and have hit a snag. When I swap out icons, there is an ugly black box around them (my icons are not squares). But this only happens on the downloaded apps (phone, messages, etc. no not have the ugly black box. In my theme i have the springboard folder and I assumed it would be the iconDarkeningOverlay, but I replaced those with transparent images and nothing changed. Can anyone shed some light on how to fix this?
