Hello everyone,

I upgraded my 2G iPhone to the 2.0 software and noticed a change in behavior for the Maps application. Previously, the Locate Me feature required the user to manually hit the target icon to get an estimation of the location. Presently, it is automatically engaged every time I tap on Maps. I've found that the only way to stop this behavior is to turn off Location Services. Thus, I am left with either having Maps automatically use this feature every time or never at all. Trying to use the feature manually will give me the dialog of allowing Maps to find my location, which then defaults back to automatically finding me whenever I use Maps. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to revert the change so it acts like the previous version of the software?

Turn Location Services on or off: Choose General > Location Services and turn
location services on or off

Hope this helps. ;)

Thanks for the reply. I've actually tried turning that off but when I try to find my location again, it turns the services back on. I'm actually just trying to get it so that Maps doesn't automatically use the feature whenever I launch it but only when I tap the icon.
