Since installing iOS 10 ive found maps really slow to load, impossibly slow. What has Apple done? I am now forced to use Google maps, which are much quicker to load on the same device.

Loading as fast as ever on my end. Even faster than Google maps, in fact.

Are you on the latest version of iOS 10? Beta or not? Which device? Tried resetting network settings? If you do that last one, you will have to enter your WIFI credentials again, so keep that in mind.

There seems to be a discussion (maybe?) related to your problem in this thread as well.

Same problem with my iPad Mini 2 and my iPhone SE (both iOS 10.02). Searching for addresses, loading map sections etc. takes a very long time in Apple Maps.

Everything else related to network/internet works just fine. Switched to Google Maps for now...
