I know that one of the new features of iOS5 was the ability to mark emails as Read but I really wish that this was also implemented for general messages (text and imessage) as well.
As an example I have all my badges turned off so when a text comes in, it obviously shows up in the Notification Centre. If its a text which I dont want to respond to, I will clear it from the Notification Centre and because I have the badges turned off I dont get the red badge showing on my messaging app which is exactly what I want.
However, at a later time, when I go into the messaging app, I obviously still get the blue dot on the left of the unread text from earlier and the only way to clear this is to open the text. If I had 3 or 4 texts like this, I would have to open each one individually to clear the blue dot! Why couldnt we have a Mark as Read option here as well .?!
