I know that ios notifications are bad, but they do have some actionable actions, I get lots of messages and emails where it is not necessary for me to open them, for example whenever I get a text saying that my monthly fee for vodafone was charged to my bank account, it'd be ideal for me to mark that notification as "read" but only thing I can do is dismiss it and then I have to enter the app and manually set the message as read, this is so silly to me, is this an ios issue or is it just that developers can't be bothered to implement this? It happens on my mail app, whatsapp, telegram...

On my iPhone 8 in iOS 15 I can press and hold a Messages notification to bring up the conversation. This marks it as read.

I can press and hold a Mail notification…this brings up the email and options to delete or mark as read.

Not as fast as a swipe action but opening the apps isn't required.
