Decided not to wait for the Moto 360, especially since I will be using an iPhone 6 a good majority of the time, but also wanted something stylish and 'looks' like a watch vs. a Casio Databank from the 1980's (which I still happen to own as well!) The Martian Notifier looks like a high end watch, has custom vibration patterns, touch glass to review your past notification, works with almost any app that can push notifications, has an led indicator light and only costs $129 with free shipping.

As you can see from the pics, it looks great, has a quality fit and finish (unlike the ugly plastic Pebble), but the band is pure silicon garbage. In the heat, sweat builds up and it stinks. Why they decided to go with such a cheap band, I don't know? It was simple enough to change out though, as Martian uses the standard 22mm pins to mount the band to the watch. I prefer my leather carbon fiber band as you can see. Makes the watch look so much better.

I really love the ability to customize the vibration patterns for all my apps. I get a call and it is 4 long vibrations along with the OLED display showing the name and phone number. I get a text and I get 4 short vibration busts along with the name of the person and a scrolling display of the first 3 lines of the text. Email is similar. And then Google+, twitter, etc are all set for short and long vibration patterns.

Miss a notification and all you have to do is tap the watch face to replay the notification, as long as you do it within 5 minutes. After that, no joy.

The watch has all the usual stuff, like an alarm, world time, etc. Def worth $129 and since it works with both iPhone and Android, it is better than what Android wear or Apple will give us.

Looks nice! Its a shame there isn't a cross platform device like this for those of us that use both IOS and Android.

If ios would add a notification sharing API I would imagine we would see android wear products compatible with it. Though not the same degree of integration an Iwatch would have. Fingers crossed!

Other than this, the Pebble and maybe the Omate, I can't think of any others that can notify you if you are using both IOS and Android?
And personally, I think this looks the best out of all the smartwatches currently for sale.

Just checked out the website, it really is quite cool, especially considering the price. I find it curious that it doesn't seem to hook into android notification sharing API and therefore support any app. I see it supports lower versions of android. Can't see if it works for all apps in 4.3 and above. I suppose because this is totally custom product. Regardless the important ones seem there. I like how it looks normal and inconspicuous.

I have 4.4.3 on my Moto X and get notifications from all the apps I specified, so there must be hooks into the push notification API for phones on KitKat.

And yeah, looks like a completely normal high end watch (at least it does now, without the cheesy red watchband it came with.) I'm going deaf in my right ear and my left isn't much better, so the vibration patterns on my wrist are a life saver! Love this watch.

How does the notification review feature work? Do you keep tapping to review missed notifications? Perked my interest, gotta support cross platform products :p and how about the scroll speed of the text?

Notification repeat works by tapping the screen. It will only give you one repeat though.

Scroll speed is adjustable.

Very cool. Thanks!

Let's say I missed multiple notifications within the five minute timer, do you get to review each of them once? Only most recent?
Only the most recent notifications. If you had 3 emails pop in, it will say "3 emails - John Doe, Amazon, Kelly"

It is limited to what it can tell you, but since your phone is likely with you, you'll be checking it anyway to dismiss or delete notifications. If you are in a meeting, trust me, you'll feel the vibration and look at the watch. The nice thing is, unlock with phones the vibration itself is really quiet (decibel wise), but you feel it on your wrist!

If you dismiss a notification on your phone does it stop notifications on or to your watch?
If you get the vibration on your watch....then pull your phone out of your pocket to read/answer the text or email. Does it stop the vibration/notification on your watch?

I doubt that Apple will ever release an Notification API (Security concerns, but more important iWatch Sale concerns) and every Smartwatch won't work very well.

Just today I've read a review of the LG Lifeband Touch and was surprised it is working with iOS as well, but there is no way this thing gets the same possibilities on iPhone like on Android without Apple doing at themselves (Notifications).

So quick update. I've now finished Day 4 on the same charge and show battery at 38%.

The watch can easily get around 6 days of use between charges. Very happy with that compared to what the Moto 360, LG, Samsung and the like are advertising of 1-2 days. I simply don't have to worry about charging my watch. Love this thing!
