Hey guys, I did have a successful install on my 5,1 a few days ago, but Monterey was installed on an SSD instead of my 4M2 card. I started over again and I am able to mount the EFI, but it won't bless no matter what I do. The popup just says "There is no OpenCore ESP mounted to bless. You can use the mount scripts from the ESP Tools."

I've tried a bunch of drives, mounting and unmounting, all to no avail. Wondering if anyone has any idea what I should try from here.

Does the mount ESP from list tool show an ESP with OpenCore?

You need to provide the necessary details to answer a question.

You can download the Dumper from my signature, it contains the full and updated set of ESP tools.

The Mount ESP tool does not show an ESP with OpenCore. It will allow me to select one of the SSD drives and it will show the EFI Partition on the drive I selected, but the bless tool gives me that error. If I unmount and re-mount any of the drives, the same thing happens.

How on earth should you bless an OpenCore ESP when no OpenCore ESP is in the machine?

Read again how to deploy MartinLo's OpenCore variant.

I followed Mac Sound Solution's tutorial to a t.
How does that help to solve your problem?

Show the ESP what you copied OpenCore to, and we might see the issue.

The most common fault is that people do not make a folder EFI in the volume EFI.

So its /Volumes/EFI/EFI/ etc.

I do see the blessing now on same drive as Mojave is installed on.

current blessing is:
1: APFS Volume Macintosh HD 39.9 GB disk8s1
OCZ-VERTEX2
Bay 4 (SATA)

My current volumes look like the attached image. I have Catalina installed on the drive that I am trying to upgrade to Monterey.

Appreciate the help. Somehow OpenCore is back in business now and I am currently installing Monterey.

I see I’m back to the “a required firmware update could not be installed” window again.

Or use the Gatekeeper unprotect folder tool from my Dumper package to clear the xprotect tags.
I ended up using the very newest version of OpenCore and enabled the NVMe booting. Everything installed as intended and I am now using Monterey. My only concern is that I know Martin’s package is optimized for the 5,1 and I’m not sure if I’m missing out on anything or possibly running at a limited amount because of it.
