After 8 weeks powered off my good old iPhone 3Gs remembers the position on the Cover Flow (and on lists view as well):

Wish Marvis could do that too!
I wish ANY app I have in iOS 8 could! Practically every app I have forgets within minutes I leave it.

Meanwhile, like you, my iOS 6 devices are blissfully stable on that front.

Amazing News : v2.0 has been Approved and is Now Ready for Sale. Enjoy the Great New Features.

*If it's not live in some countries, it will soon be.
IOS 9 beta 2 has issues on running third party apps, including yours. So the experience could be worse than I expect.
Although! I don't think their rush next seed for apple music would bring some improvements which is noticeable.

You are right, their APIs are flawed, since 8.4. Hope they resolve the issues soon.

If they solve the issues in iOS 8.4 final version, they won't have much trouble solving it for iOS 9 as well.

Well, would apple release another beta focused on improving software rather than adding something not so important? You know iOS 8.2. This is a version, explicitly seeded for APPLE WATCH.

Guess we would never know before it comes.

They have to fix the issues, if they can reject 3rd Party Apps for issues they have, it's their responsibility to fix the troubles we might face because of their faults. And I believe they know their responsibilities.

I have submitted v2.1, I even requested to expedite the Review Process and they Accepted my request.

v2.1 is 'In Review' right now. I hope they approve it soon.

It has a very useful Landscape Mode for iPad.

It has been Approved, and will be live soon. I've worked hard to deliver it as soon as possible, I hope you all enjoy it. Do Share your feedbacks.

Update : v2.1 is now Available. It's a Quick update over v2.0 but it doesn't lack New Features.

• Landscape Mode on iPad
‣ The Landscape is even more Efficient than Portrait.
‣ The Playback Queue is Visible all the time, so you can Instantly View/Edit/Play your Upcoming Items.

• Toggle to Revert the Swipe Gesture on Mini Player.

• The Artist Name is now Hidden under Albums if it's same as the Album Artist.

• This Update Even Fixes the Bugs v2.0 had, like Crashes when Navigating Playlists View on iPhone Landscape.

You'll find more things that are changed which might not be mentioned here.

Does this upcoming version include the reverse swipe option?

Edit: It's live, and it does :)

I would hope more on iOS 9 beta 3, to see if app performance is improved.

Love the UI but would be nice if I could search and play a song within a playlist instead of the whole library. Searching and playing a song now brings me out of the playlist and plays within the search results.
So happy you loved the UI. I really don't get you when you mean that you just want to search a song within a playlist, I'll tell you what doesn't make much sense, first you say want to search playlist probably because you have lots of songs in it, if you search for an item you'll get the desired results out of that playlist only, but if you do the search globally you get the results that will include just a few more tracks, I feel that shouldn't be a big trouble.

If you search more precisely, you'll be left up with just the song you were searching for in both cases.

I hope you understand.

When I pull down on the playlist screen I don't see a "Search Playlist" or "Search Playlists" field appear. It looks like the global search on top is the only option.

I'm also a bit confused by the question but maybe that's the issue. If that's what the poster means then I could see the value of adding it.

Reason: how Apple's API lets you handle playlists makes it so even my nested playlist folders behave like they do in iTunes (displaying every file in the folder's contents) as opposed to how the iOS music player handles them (displaying only the subfolders). The result: some playlists appear to have 1,000+ songs in the app. Again, I think it's a byproduct limitation of the API just like how Apple doesn't let music apps properly display nested folders. It's also one more reason why I personally don't use playlist features in 3rd party apps.

Well, If searching the playlist is what the poster meant, that's a really acceptable request. I first din't add them coz Apple's native predicate APIs don't filter playlists. And I thought often playlist are just a few, maybe 10-20, so I decided to add search in a later version.

I even really think Apple should provide nested playlist APIs and editing APIs as well. I was really hoping they would give a few more useful APIs in iOS 9. but doesn't look like they want 3rd party players to improve .

Any thoughts on how Marvis may work with today's iOS 8.4 release?
Some users have reported issues with iOS 8.4 betas, some use without any issues. So probably they might have resolved the issues. I'm not gonna update to 8.4 today, but I'll let you know what's the case. Few of Marvis Lovers already planned not to update to 8.4 unless they're sure it works fine.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Sorry if my post brought confusion. What I was trying to explain is that while playing a playlist, I would want to have the option of searching (not scrolling) for a particular song within that playlist instead of globally so I can play that song and after the song ends, the app would resume playback of other songs within the playlist. The current app does not allow this, I would search for a track, Sugar for instance, and it would display all the songs that has the word Sugar in my library instead of just that playlist, and selecting the track would play of course, but if I left it playing on its own, it will continue playing other Sugar tracks contained in the search result instead of resuming playback of the playlist I first selected.

By playlist, do you mean the playback queue? It still seems confusing. I thought I understood at first but I still cannot get you. If you meant to say those things related to playback queue, Are you aware that you can tap and hold media items to Play it Next or Last?

A user just confirmed that Marvis can play the Tracks downloaded via AppleMusic. he din't mention how Marvis works on 8.4 but I Infer he doesn't have any problems.
I bit the bullet and downloaded it as well. So far it's working as it did before.

Side note: While it hasn't completely fixed my sorting issue (still many artists are listed by first name, ignoring the tags) the strange problem I showed you with the dividers is completely gone.
