sorry if this is in the wrong location.
i was wondering if it is possible to create a script which will put a folder in an exact location on the desktop. i am assuming there is a file hidden in each folder which stores the information of the positions of files and folders inside it. is it possible to edit this?thanks. Dan.

I think he is refering to location on the screen itself. So coordinates, like my HDD icon is always in the top right(of 1440 x 900) so it's sitting at probably like... 1380x800something?

To answer your question though, the information has to be stored somewhere, but I am not sure of the specific file/location there of

The information is stored in a hidden file called .ds_store. However, I have no idea what the format of the file is to know how easy it is to modify it yourself.
