Mass photo (harcopy) scanning?

Hi there,
I've got about 1000 photo all in boxes that i'd love to trasnfer to digital format but i really dont have the time to scan each one in.

Is there anything i can buy/rent that will make the job so much easier and faster?

On another note, is there anything that can do the same for paper documents?

You can buy scanners with Automatic Document Feeders. I'm not sure if they can deal with photos though. They'll handle the paper docs fine though.

there are some specifically for photo's but I can't remember any off the top of my head.
