I got my new iMac (i7) and dumped my AT&T DSL after ridiculously sporadic service (frequent slowdowns and page loads that acted almost like dial up sometimes). I just can't go back to cable (the wounds after 3 years are still too raw) so I tried Clear. Works fine - not lightning but pretty fast, like fast DSL with just a slight hesitation at the beginning.

Anyhoo - this works great when directly connected to the Clear modem. So I pulled out my old Linksys WAP/Router/Switch to get wireless going and my page loads slowed to a crawl despite the fact that my iMac still has a wired connection, albeit through the Switch on the Linksys.

I don't have any wireless devices connected yet and when I switch the connection back to direct-to-modem, it's back to working great. is there something that I need to do in config or setup that I'm missing to avoid this performance problem and still get wireless going? I realize that one solution may just be old equipment but wired is wired and I'm finding it hard to believe that a slowdown that huge is due to going through a switch.
