Did Apple make a HUGE oversite in not making the monitors match in size to the iMac's? Am I the only one that would love to have an iMac with a second monitor?

Being that the sleek look of my wifes iMac is amazing by itself, can imagine putting a monitor next to it that is of a different size and look. Why wouldnt Apple with all of its inovation and attention to detail with look and feel not have thought of this very thing?

Is only 2 monitor sizes also a huge over site on the part of Apple?

Fustrated...

I think I am more frustrated than you since I have no idea why your panties are all bunched up?

Wanted to put a 30" next to my iMac 24, albeit the cost was not in the ballpark. So hunted around until a Hannspree 28" caught my eye, and now it sits next to the 24 and looks great ($389.00 USD). Run Win 7 in Fusion 3, so now I can view both OS's at the same time. ;)

As much as this pains me to say being a PC user :) and closet imac fan.....

The core duo imac is the matching monitor you want.
Have you priced 2650x1600/1440 monitors?

They are more than the imac and not as good if you can deal with the glossy screen.

Buy another, its a fair price.

just buy the 21.5 iMac and put a hp monitor at its side , they look very similar they cant copy as it would be angainst some laws to copy the design and its even 21.5 inch too and has speakers inside too or the dell 22 inch monitor i think the half inch you wont notice in real life but it wont look out of place on the site of a imac

i choose the 21.5 because i cant see a logical reason why you would like to double the huge 27
if you like a biger screen on the side of a iMac just connect your 60 inch plasma tv to it
if thats not big enough there is a 102 inch plasma tv available from samsung and its a bargain for only $45000 so peanuts for you screen fetishists

if thats still not big enough for your word documents then i advise to see a optician

You do understand the 60-100 inch screen you are recommending are 1080p just like the 23-24 inched widely available.
People who lust after larger monitors do so for resolution which makes more useable workspace.

You know that right?

yes i know that sure , but i still think if you already have a 27 inch screen and its still not big enough for all the windows you have opened at once and you cant handle them with expose any more then you should reconsider your practice of work and get more efficient, as with this work practice you will soon have the need for a 3rd and a 4th and a 5th 27 inch display....

That's just stupid.
Why waste a perfectly good computer if you don't have to.

This is one of the reasons I still have to use a PC.
Apple needs to make the ACD match the iMac in height and screen size.

pictures?

The ACD was designed specifically for use with the MBP, the common problems are the short cord and non-height adjustable. Anyone have the set-up currently as I would like to see what the height differences are (ACD + new Imac)?

My wife uses a westinghouse 40" connected to her 20" iMac 2.66ghz 6gb ram. Comes out clear as day with the resolution. It doubles as a TV of course.

What size is your wife's iMac? I've got a Dell U2410 sitting next to my 24" iMac. Both same size and same resolution 1900X1200 and the Dell is a Matt display. Perfect. Remember that for the 24" the max resolution out is 1900X1200

The new iMacs just came out. Once they revise the Cinema display, I think we'll see some 27" LED's.
