HomeKit Matter device not responding on HomeKit iPad

I am unable to control my matter bulb with the home app on my iPad. I can control it with my iPhone but not my iPad. I do not have a HomePod and I use my iPad often. I would like to be able to turn it on and off without having to get out my phone and controlling it that way.

What iPhone do you have? Recent iPhones have Thread radios so you can communicate directly with Matter devices. Also, what bulb are you trying to control?
