Mavericks multiple console messages

Since I downloaded and installed Mavericks I'm getting a lot of junk in my console logs, at times 'syslog' is hogging 100% CPU.
just one that keeps occuring is...
"Network delay is not specified! Defaulting to 0x384"

and another...
Sandbox: mdworker(959) deny file-read-data /Users/jbarley/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Contents/PkgInfo

any ideas as how to correct this?
