Mavericks on 2012 Mac Pro?

It looks like the refurbished MacPros on Apple.com and the in-stock units at most online retailers are shipped with Moutain Lion, not Mavericks. Is this the case, and if so do you expect the upgrade to Mavericks will be clean and easy? When Apple launches the next OS in a couple of years, do you expect it will still fully support a 2012 Mac Pro?

I'm debating whether I should buy the 2012 model, where my only concerns are (1) the 3.2 / 3.3GHz clock limitation vs. 3.7GHz+ Haswell cpus, which matters for some photoshop/lightroom usages, and (2) the lack of USB 3 for reading 16GB cards full of photos. I really like the upgradeability, the modularity and the PCIe storage capability. There are some good deals right now on the 2012s which helps a lot. The new Mac Pro is too much money- can't justify it.

A well configured iMac i7 is actually looking like a very good match for my usage needs but I don't need a monitor and I worry that iMacs will be more problem prone due to CPU/display integration and any problems with the hardware will cause major headaches (whereas a power supply, connector/cable or drive problem on a MacPro is easy solved and upgrading is straightforward.)

There are PCIe USB 3.0 cards for that.

As ActionableMango said, USB3 is not a problem, and I doubt the next OSX will be a problem either. Mavericks is a free upgrade from ML and it's a very smooth upgrade. I've done it a few times now and it's been very painless.

Mavericks runs great on my 2009 Mac Pro, also I'm using a FrescoLogic based USB 3 card without issues, Works with the native apple drivers.
