I've looked around and am thoroughly confused on what the Maximum Total bit rate is for movies that can be played on the new Apple TV. My brother told me it was 3500kbps and I've read on apple's website two different things one stating video "up to 5 mbps Progressive Main Profile (CAVLC)" and the other stating "Up to 3 mbps, Simple Profile". If someone could explain this to me that'd be great.
I've been ripping and converting my DVD's using Handbrake with the Apple TV preset and setting the "Average Bit Rate" to 3000 kbps, with the resulting movies having a bit rate ranging from 3200-3900 kbps. Will the movies in the 3900 kbps range still play on the Apple TV? I just don't want to get too far into ripping movies only having to go back later and re rip them at a lower quality.
