Hi there,

I've got an early 1.1 Mac Pro (2x2Ghz).
Apple used to say that it could take 1To hard drives max. But in those days bigger drives didn't exist (2006).

Would 2To HDs work properly in this machine ?

Thanks for your help !

Manny

You should be fine storage wise, the issue is more that the 1,1 is SATA II where as new drives are SATA III. Still compatible, but will run at the slower speed.

no mac pro has sata III interface.

Yet to be upgraded maybe in OCT 2011?

As for your mac pro it can have 3tb hdds. Just like the newer ones can. Not sure if you can run 4 in a raid0 to go to a 12tb volume in an 06. the 10 model can do that.
