Hi,

I currently have two Dell SP2309W monitors running on HDMI from a Windows Desktop...

The resolution for these 23" monitor is 2048 x 1152, which is working fine on Windows (HDMI), but (after buying a Macbook Unibody Late 2008) I only want OSx now, so I waited for the new Mac Mini to buy...

Only the TechSpecs on Apple.com says the max resolutions for HDMI is 1920x1200  I have a dual-monitor setup..

Already tested a MiniDisplayPort -> HDMI adapter with my Macbook, which is working fine, but the seconds screen should be connected through HDMI...

I assume the new MacMini had HDMI v1.4 (May 2009), which should support up to 4096x2160, so why Apple says the max is 1920x1200?

Found already this post... I know DisplayPort/Thunberbold supports higher resolutions, but want dual monitor, so i need the HDMI port for the second screen...

Is this a hardware or a software issue and can somebody tell me if this will of won't work... Really want the new MacMini, but also want to use the full resolution of both monitors?

Thnx already!

If it's working with that adapter the new mini *should* support it too, but I can't guarantee anything. Those 2048x1152 monitors aren't too common and I think they're technically just beyond the spec of what single link DVI and (older) HDMI is supposed to do (aka 1920x1200), but they usually work without needing dual link hardware.

The problem is not the adapter/displayport, but it's the HDMI-port on the MacMini...

I just can't believe the HDMI-port itself has a maximum output of 1920x1200, because with my current desktop, i can choose 2048 x 1152 without any problem, so it must be a software issue... Anyone any experiances with this? Is there a way to get 2048 x 1152 on the standard HDMI-port on the MacMini (2010 model/2011 model)?

So, here's my experiance, just for the people who wanted to know this or come here someday...

I took a gamble and decided to buy the new MacMini, it's the 2.7Ghz i7 version with the Radeon HD6630M and 8GB memory.

Recieved everything this week, so connected and tested it, but it all works perfectly!

The HDMI-port on the MacMini (2011) supports not only up to 1920x1200 like the website says, but it also supports the 2048x1152 resolution without any problem :)

So, i've got a dual-screen macMini now with 2 Dell 2048x1152 monitors. One connected to the HDMI-port, the other onto the miniDisplayPort (Thunderbolt...) with a adapter tho HDMI. Both working! :D
