Max Payne 3 for Mac steam works?

does anybody know if the Max Payne 3 the steam version works for Mac?
I read many threads that there was an issue,and i wanted to be sure before i buy it.

i just found it very clunky, but then its a clunky game anyway. does run better on bootcamp.

I just finished it very recently. I played the Mac version on a late-2013 27" iMac 3.4 i5, 8 gigs RAM, Nvidia 775m with 2 gigs RAM and it ran beautifully from start to finish at high settings and native 1440p resolution. At least on this particular hardware there was no reason whatsoever to want to run it in bootcamp. That was on Yosemite 10.10.5. I was done just before El Capitan released. However, it being a Cider port should not be a problem on El Capitan as I have since tested an older game that uses it too and it runs fine. That game is Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition. I just mention that since it indicates to me that Cider was apparently not affected by upgrading to El Capitan here.
