Why has the Max RAM for pcs been 64 for awhile now? i know supercomputers/big servers can have more, but you know pcs. Is there any pc with 128GB RAM?, I'm just wondering because i remember a while ago when 16GBs was amazing, and that quickly raised to more, but it has taken awhile to get through 64GB RAM.

What would you need that much RAM for??? Also are there higher than 64GB RAM in mac?, like I've heard the new Mac Pro can handle 128GB. But I'm not sure it's true

CPU can handle up to 256 according to intel. Don't think you can get the dimms for more than 64gb right now.

And according to Intel the CPU can handle eight to twelve DIMMs.

Apple compromised at four for the new Mini Pro.

(And Intel says that the E5-26xx v2 can handle up to 768 GiB....)

Ok, I'm amused that you begin by asking why the max is 64GB, then turn around and ask why anyone needs 256GB.
