I am wondering if anyone can tell me what sort of graphics capability is required for editing still photographs (in PhotoShop or equivalent). I know I can look up the minimum and recommended system requirements, but that does not tell me very much. So I wonder at what point does adding more graphics capability run into diminishing returns? If you have an idea of the answer, then express it in any form you like: geekbench, actual GPU cards, etc.

Thanks for reading.

I should have been more specific. I am not asking about a specific mac, but more in general. For something I might buy, what level of graphics capability should I be looking for when I purchase? I don’t want to find that there are performance hits for what I do (photoshop with two external 27” monitors) after buying, but there comes a point at which no gains are to be had by buying better GPU capability. What I have now is a 2014 Mac Mini and it is definitely WAY under powered. Is an Intel MacMini more than enough, or should I really wait for something with 32 GPUs on Apple silicon? Looking for an educated guess. Thanks.

Have a read here:

I think Adobe apps are now fully supported on Apple M1 macs.
With an intel mini you can add an eGPU for more horsepower.

Thanks for pointing me to that thread. I believe I will see what is coming out shortly, and then be making my (much delayed ?) purchase. Most probably something with M1X and more than the currently available RAM.
