I recently installed a Maxtor 6H500F0 (DiamondMax 11) 500gb drive into the B slot of my Quad G5. When I installed the drive I didn't notice that it had a jumper pin for Sata 150 mode. Should I remove the drive and change the pin or is it ok in Sata 2 mode?

I did accidentaly the same thing with maxtor proline 500GBs.

I did xbench benchmark it with the with and without jumpers, and it was basically the same on different runs. Some were better and some poorer.

So no,they didnt make a difference for me.

I just ran xbench on it (in Sata 2 mode) and the first run threw up some very slow results (eg 10.10 MB/sec on sequential write 4k Blocks) but then went to 88 MB sec on the second run (in fact everthing was faster the second time). I did perform a third test and it was completely different again. It seems that Xbench isn't accurate on the drive testing.
