I am new in the world of MAc. and I am starting to like it.

My problem is that after 15 years on a PC it is a little hard to remember the MAc's functions.

My problem is that I have installed a MAxtor touch 4 as a back up drive. No problem so far. I have partitioned its drive and now can't get back to the ONE drive. The reason being is that Time machine now does not have enough space to back up properly.

Can anyone tell me how to get back to the one drive on the MAxtor. I do not yet understand yet the ins and out of my Mac. I forgot what I did the first time.It is so frustrating. Is there anyone out there to help me out. MAny thanks for all that.

Gigi

did find out in the end

What format is the one you can't access? Macs doesn't recognize all formats.

Hi there, thks for the reply. Yesterday after fiddling for hours on my Mac and Maxtor, I finally found out that I had to get to the utiliy part of MAc , plugin MAxtor and sort it from there. I managed to get back to the one drive that I wanted. That is waht happens with new toys...you don't remember what you did because you don't knbow how to get around the machine. BRRRRRRR:mad:

Maybe in 2 months time I 'll ask the same question again...HAHAHAH:confused:
ANyway thks for that. I am thinking of selling the machine anyway....too hard for me. Will see
Cheers. Gigi

I had that format weirdness with my Maxtor. Course I forgot exactly how it was fixed. :) I hope you don't mean selling your Mac. God, don't do that. Trust me.

I really do find them(MAC) very hard to get around. MAybe it is so simple that I forget how to be simple myself. But I will not rule out that option in the end. It is frustrating. very much so.
ANyway I am glad to see that some people love their MAc.
