This is just a thought.

When my iMac comes in Monday, I will be checking it quickly to see if it freezes like the lot of you.

If it does and if indeed 10.5.7 supposedly resolves this, then perhaps I could join the ADC. I dev apps in Windows under C++ and C# so I could justify the transition.

My question would be, would I be able to download a version (BETA) of 10.5.7 that could be installed on my iMac? Secondly, would it be useful?

Lastly, this all depends on whether 10.5.7 does not release on Tuesday as rumors speculate.

Thoughts?

Unless 10.5.7 delivers new firmware for this card it cannot fix the problems, since they are happening not only in OS X but in Windows under Boot Camp.

This would point to a hardware problem or firmware problem, not a problem with the driver in OS X!.

According to Apple Insider there may be a firmware update along with the O/S 10.5.7 update. But we won't know until it comes out. I am just hoping that it comes out by the time I get my iMac late next week.
