Title says it. Can anyone find the vents for the cooling system from the pictures? Where are the vents? On the bottom? Hidden on the back?
That's because it's very quiet, but the fan in the Mini is actually spinning all the time. Not sure about the M1 Pro, but the newer Intel ones were able to stop the fan completely. At least my use of the M1 so far I have never heard of the fan(s) spinning!
The M1BP idles without the fan spinning. That's because it's very quiet, but the fan in the Mini is actually spinning all the time. Not sure about the M1 Pro, but the newer Intel ones were able to stop the fan completely.
The fan in the mini sits at 1700 rpm all the time. Never had it spin up on me. Max temp I’ve seen on one of the CPU cores is 62 degC and normal usage the temp bounces between 25-35 degC. Fan always at 1690-1710 rpm range.Having experience with the M1 Mini & M1 MBP, I'd say the fan will probably never turn on.

Compared to my Intel:
2015 15" MBP with DG cards that spins up all the time (selling it this week)
2019 16" MBP runs all the time with short battery life due to the hot chassis that requires a cooling fan underneath!
2018 & 2020 Mac Mini spins up all the time.
