I chanced it that this 4-port PS2 to USB adapter would work on my G5, with Leopard and emulators, like MAME OS X, snes9x, sixtyforce, Nestopia, and Genesis Plus, despite the website and packaging mentioning nothing about Mac support.

I didn't need USB Overdrive, Gamepad Companion, or Controllermate. I am using Emulator Enhancer with these emulators and everything works perfectly! I can map the PS2 joysticks for smooth use in sixtyforce, as the N64 sick and C-buttons work.

The only problem I've had at all after much use, is that sixtyforce does not recognize more than the first controller. I think it's an oversight on the otherwise awesome dev's part. I had the same issue with my Mayflash 2-port N64 adapter. I assume I could map the buttons of the second controller to the keyboard controls and set kb to player 2, but that's a hassle.

Other than the limitations of sixtyforce and Mupen64(which has no controller mapping), I must post here to verify/recommend Mayflash adapters for Macs.

PS: While I was testing N64 emulators with my controller, I found that my G5 is too slow to play Goldeneye! I didn't try any other N64 ROMS, as I fear futility. Emulators for games, like PC Emus of yore, are CPU hogs on slower machines like mine. No probs with any pre-64 emus, though, at all. Even on my G3 notebook, those all run smooth.

This post is really interesting; been looking into getting the Mayflash N64 Dual Port USB Adapter but I'm just not sure it'll work on OS X. Can you verify if you got it to work with two controllers? I am running SnowLeopard on a brand-new Macbook Pro. Any help and advice you've gotten on this subject would be very much appreciate since I can't seem to find any reviews of this product otherwise.

I have the dual N64 to USB adapter and have the same problem with sixtyforce that it only recognizes 1 controller. I actually think it's a problem with how osx recognizes the device. If you go into system profiler under USB it says there's only 1 game pad. The one works great but until I can get the second controller working it's not much use to me. I hope someone finds a solution to this.

EDIT: I've determined that it's the sixtyforce software that is to blame. SNES9x can use both controllers, but sixtyforce cant. I wish they would update the software, I would actually pay for it.

can you please walk me threw the steps of getting my n64 control to work with sixtyforce.
im using a mayflash adapter and a mac book pro osx

Sorry to drag up an old one, but I've got the same problem - I'm running Snow Leopard and have Sixtyforce, and a USB to two N64 adaptor. I've got two n64 controllers that both work, but Sixtyforce only recognises one of them. Has anyone found a way around this yet? I've reported it to the software maker but I doubt they will do anything about it. Is the only thing I can do is to buy another USB adaptor? Will this work? So each controller is plugged into a separate USB connection?
Thanks!
