As I patiently wait for the 16" M1x Mac to debut (I can't wait 'til July!) My 2016 MB is a total POS, and my 2011 MBA is on its last legs.

And now, the MBA screams randomly, even with the lid closed. Arrrrgh!

I guess I got bit by something on the internet, that plays this annoying little audio clip. Why? I have no idea. Some rogue 'programmer' with a Trumpian ego, maybe.

Still, incredibly invasive and annoying. Ass hats everywhere, it seems.

How do I get rid of it?

How would you suggest that I do that? It's random. The computer won't record it. How else could I record a random sound?

What would be the purpose of hearing what it sounds like? Would that make a difference in how I could get rid of it?

When you say "screams" can you be more descriptive? Like do you mean you hear a video of a person yelling? Does this happen when all web applications have been quit? Does this mean the Mac does not go to sleep at all when closed, or that is wakes up intermittently to make this noise?

Without knowing more it is hard to advise you. You can use a free program called Malwarebytes to scan for common Mac malware.
