MB C2D Yellowing - Not a thing of the past

I've had my white, C2D MacBook for around 3 months of light usage. Recently, the usage has ramped up quite considerably.

Almost immediately after this increase in usage, a hint of yellowing became visible on the left-hand wrist-rest, sadly I did not purchase protective covers until it was too late. The yellowing has accelerated and is very noicable now. It is also occuring, albeit to a lesser degree, on the right-hand wrist-rest

Is this covered by my AppleCare extended (3-year) warranty? How long should it take from shipment to receive it repaired? Anyone else seeing this on their new MBs?

If you are looking for a possible immediate fix, go out and get a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. My friend had an iBook that was severely discolored from years of use and he wanted to sell it. We got one of those and it cleaned it so well that it literally looked brand new when we were done. Give it a try

Before you go to an Apple store and embarrass yourself, did you try cleaning it with some sort of soap or an appropriate cleaning agent (that won't ruin the plastic)??

You bought a white product. White products show dirt and oil. It may not be a defect. When I had my dirty palmrest replaced, the first thing they did was try to clean it to see whether I was a big friggin baby. Once they realised they were dealing with a real case of the dirty palmrest, they fixed it.

If you try cleaning it and it doesn't work, then I'm sure they'll replace the top.

that works on ibooks, not macbooks. The material on the macbooks must be different, because it resists all attempts to clean it. Soap, water, magic erasers - nothing works.

The good news is that apple will replace the plastic under warranty. The bad news is that it will just happen again to the new plastic. It's a problem.

Well now that is a major bummer Mental note... if I get another mac portable, make sure it is a blackbook or MBP haha.

If they do fix it, may I recommend a Marware protection pack with the wristpad cover thingie? I have a black one on my black MacBook, and it's fantastic for keeping the oil and dirt off. Looks good, too.
