I am a HS student with a MacBook Pro 8,1
I have found this machine quite capable in the past years and have relied heavily on it for... just about everything. However, I now need to start carrying it everywhere, and needless to say, its been a bit heavy for my liking. Should I go out and get a new MBA 13," a MB 12", or an MBP 15"? I like the smaller laptops, but I have no problems working on a 15" if it is what the community recommends.

If I were to go MBA:
1.8GHz or 2.2GHz
8GB RAM, 16GB RAM, 32GB RAM
128Gb SSD, 256 Gb SSD, or 512GB SSD
Retina display worth it?

If I were to go MacBook
m3 Processor, m5 Processor, or i5 Processor
How Much RAM?
How much storage?

If I were to go MacBook Pro
13 or 15
Processor?
RAM?
Storage?

Also, as a side note, I do need Adobe PhotoShop, Premier Pro, etc
I also need to run Eclipse ( the JAVA IDE )
I also need MS Office 2016
I would like it to be as cool (Temp wise) as possible

Any help is appreciated

My suggestion is a 2015 Apple-refurbished MacBook Pro 13".

Considerably lighter to carry around than earlier versions of the MBPro 13" that had the CD drive (like yours).

Also, a full complement of "legacy ports" that make connectivity easy instead of fighting with "dongle city".

And a keyboard that actually works.
