Anyone has any experience with adobe lightroom or aperture? I would like to see the MB/MBP performance on some raw photo editing and possibly some PS.

I have a C2D Mac Mini and it jerks a bit when I load aperture to edit photos... so if that's the case for MB I might opt for MBP... 13" vs 15" is a non-issue to me. Thanks in advance.

If you intend using Aperture on the go I'd have to say get the MBP. Aperture does all it's processing in CoreImage which will run on the GPU if possible (and fall back to the CPU as well). So it will be much faster on the MBP than the MP.

Note your existing license if good for the laptop too, Apple allow you to install Aperture on up to two machines, as long as you are the sole user of the software on those machines and only use one at once.

I use a 13" MB that I got June '06 for raw photo editing, never stalled up on me - using both Aperture and PS:CS3.

It depends on user. I feel that aperture works better in mbp. However lightroom works well in mb and mbp too:eek:

Since the mini and the macbook are the same exact computers, you're not going to see a difference unless you go pro.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I guess I'll have to see what's the new macbook gonna offer on the graphic side. :)
