I just got a MB Pro 14" 2023 and I'm amazed with the quality of the screen and sound but I noticed as soon as I turned it on there is a faint darker grey line going around the edge of whole screen, I have seen this effect before on the latest iPad Pro 12.9" with mini led screen.

Just wondered if this was the norm on these laptops as well.

Could others with the same model let me know if you see it as well.

Thanks.

no one else got a 14" MBP, I found out the display has a mini led panel which I did not even realise, so uses the same technology as the latest iPad Pro 12.9 but with more dimming zones, so should be free of blooming, not tested this as yet.

I probably worded it wrong, what I meant is there is a faint grey shadow around the border of the screen which I have seen on the iPad Pro's as well, seems to be a thing with XDR panels.

Blooming is definitely possible in extreme situations, but overall the panels are pretty nice, apart from the poor pixelupdate.

And all the mini led apple display do have a slight dimming right at edge, it's just part of how they're done it seems.

Blooming is much less noticable i think when comparing with my ipad pro M1. The only flaw of this display is so high latency

Ok thanks for all your feedback and confirming this.

The only issue my laptop is having now is the case is starting the creak whenever I put it on my my lap or take it off my lap. was ok at first but seems to be worsening as days go by.

Yes this is normal. It is on the 14"/16" MacBook Pros as well as the mini LED iPad Pros. It doesn't appear to vary at all between units either, so it's just one of those things to get used to.
