Hi everyone, an OCD/Mac perfectionist question regarding my new 15 inch MacBook Pro - latest model...

When I look at the camera it appears there is more black space above the camera to the top edge of the bezel and there is less space below down to the edge of the screen. Thus it's not quite perfectly in the middle from a vertical perspective...

I just want to know if this is intended or if the design of my particular unit mighty be slightly defective? I have heard mixed opinions from various store and support reps. I also have seen other units where the camera does appear more in the middle (vertically); but it could be my eyes.

Has anyone noticed this on their machine? Is the alignment "normal" ? Thanks so much!

Not to sound like a smart a**, but my first question is this, do you use the camera on the computer, and if so have you tested it for it’s functionality? If it works fine, or you never plan on using it, it’s not something worth worrying about.

I have had several computers with built in camera, and the lenses do appeat to be off centered slightly, but never to the point of interfering with the camera’s functionality. I’d say unless you are seeing an issue with video quality, I’d not worry about it at all, likely it’s meant to be off centered or it’s within the variance specs that are given for your machine’s build.

As long as it isn't located on the bottom bezel like the Dell XPS nose cams of past models, I am good with how mine is located :)

As far as I can tell without actually taking measurements, mine seems to be centered. But it's one of those things I really never paid much attention to. It works as well (or as poorly) as most of those cams work.
