My brother's MB which was purchased on the first day it was released has random shutdown problem.

Anyhow, I'm wondering if the random shutdown problem has been fixed on the newer MB or not.
Basically, if I purchase MB now, would it still have the problem?
My mother is looking for a new laptop and I'd like to recomment MB. But due to this problem, I'm reluctant to do it.

Any help?

You're brother should return his MacBook to Apple in the hope that they'll either replace it or fix it. Newer MacBooks are understandably having less issues but they're still not perfect. I wouldn't avoid one for quality reasons though, especially as Apple is usually pretty good about honouring their warranty. :)

Got a MB about one month ago and the frequent shutdown issue got worst.
Just changed the Logic board (new version) but the MB still has the same problem. Was told by Apple centre over 50% of MB sold has this problem.
Temporary my advise is to hold on to any purchase until Apple could rectify this matter.
