Anyone see Apple redesigning their lineup of macbooks? When and if they upgrade to SR will they change anything up? Maybe a new screen instead of the glossy one? Could we see a whole new design?

i don't think the Macbooks will see any redesign for awhile yet. while they're not too far different from the iBooks, they're still the ones that have undergone the biggest change with the Intel transition.
Do you see them giving an option for a matte screen rather than glossy? Also why do they only have the glossy screen option on Macbooks? Any reason inperticular?
i think the glossy screen overall makes things a bit clearer and sharper, imo. i think thats why they have them on there for the most part. i have no clue if they'll add an option for matte. but glossy screens are pretty popular right now too
I've heard that people don't like the glossy screen cause sometimes it is TOO reflective and it makes things hard to see on the screen outside? Bad glare I heard?
I suspect the manufacturing costs involved are central to that decision. It is cheaper for Apple to make them all glossy and, for those that do not care for the glossy screen, the added price differential is steep for a MBP model, although other notable differences are included.
i think a lot of people who make these comments are observers, not actually using the computer. when the computer's right in front of you, you don't see any glare. unless you're outdoors, where it's hard to see no matter what screen you've got.
The case has been rounded white plastic for the MB for quite a while now. And rounded aluminium on the MBP for longer than that.
Sorry, but the MacBook has only been out a year. The MacBook has some significant changes over the iBook line, keyboard, screen, maglatch, magsafe, just to name a few. But if you think that rounded corners/edges are the defining characteristics to a case design, ok. I don't see Apple going to a square off, or shelf like designs like the HPs, Dells, and Toshibas.
And the MBP, many have clamoured for a redesign since it didn't change over from the aluminum PowerBook design. But Apple has a good think there and who knows when we may see that change.
I've heard of people having good success with the 3M privacy filter. It's glossy on one side and matte on the other, so you choose what appearance you want.
The downside is, well, it's a privacy filter, so it reduces the horizontal viewing angle.
Does anyone know when the new chipset and CPU changes will be out for the MB? I know that Leopard is delayed until Oct, but someone told me the new hardware will still come out in June.
Can anyone confirm?

The Santa Rosa chipset is due from Intel in May, not sure exactly when. There aren't any CPU changes on the horizon till Penryn the end of this year, but we most likely won't see those in Macs till Jan-March of next year. Other than that maybe a CPU speed bump with Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa will most likely hit the iMac in June at WWDC and the MBP in July followed by the MacBook in late July or early August. Don't plan on June though. I wouldn't expect either notebook to get it in late June with the iPhone release scheduled then.
The 24" iMac as well as iMac Core 2 Duo revisions were early September. The MBP went to C2D in late October and the MB went C2D in early November. That said, I would expect that the iMacs will see Santa Rosa first, unless Apple is unveiling a desktop chipset revision at WWDC (which I doubt). It would make sense that the MBP would follow next, and the MB after that. We really have no idea about the Mini. Logic would dictate it be last, however, they have left it out in the cold and it's still running on a Yonah. It doesn't make sense to update it before the notebooks, but all it got was a speed bump in September. I could see them going C2D finally but not SR, but that makes little sense either since they could have done this months ago. I will give you that MBPs may see SR update at WWDC along with iMacs, and MacBooks following several weeks behind. I would love to see something before WWDC, but I'm not holding my breath. The time from which Intel makes the chipset available to production ramp up and distribution doesn't make that too likely.
The (very minor) speed-bump is almost certain, due to the 800MT/s FSB -- the SR Merom speeds are 2.4GHz/2.2GHz.
